This two-year fellowship program within the Office of Innovation & Industry Alliances is designed to train STEM PhD graduates having little knowledge of academic technology transfer with what they need to know to be hired into any technology transfer office (TTO) or related position in the US. The fellow will participate in 6 month rotations with the (i) Industry Alliance Group, to learn business intelligence and development; (ii) Intellectual Property Group, to acquire skills in prior art research and patent preparation; (iii) Licensing Group, to learn marketing and licensing of patented technology; and (iv) Business Operations and Contracting Group to develop expertise in budgeting of technology transfer expenses and in the genesis of research related agreements and contracts. The fellow will also participate in the NCI Technology Transfer University, a first-in-kind partnership between Moffitt and the NCI, where they will receive training on relevant topics from the government perspective. The fellow is also expected to engage in professional development activities including, but not limited to, attendance at trade conferences, TTO related courses, publishing in trade and other peer-reviewed journals, and professional activities sponsored by the Moffitt Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Moffitt Postdoctoral Association.
